Neighborhood Safety Workshop Dec. 5, 2019

Posted: 12/03/2019
The last Neighborhood Safety Workshop of the year will provide residents of West Knoxville neighborhoods with advice on working with each other and City departments to respond to and reduce crime. The workshop will be held on Dec. 5, 2019 at 6 p.m. at the Arnstein Jewish Community Center, 6800 Deane Hill Drive.

The Office of Neighborhoods, Police Advisory & Review Committee (PARC) and the Knoxville Police Department designed the workshops to present to residents in different areas of the city current data about crimes in their neighborhoods as well as advice on reducing and preventing those crimes.

Previous workshops in the series informed residents about neighborhood-specific crime statistics (available online via the LexisNexus Community Crime Map), smart safety habits and City resources to help neighbors report and respond to crime.

December’s presenters will highlight issues particular to West Knoxville neighborhoods, present data from all parts of the city, and share holiday-related safety tips. The meeting is open to residents of all Knoxville neighborhoods and will include a cumulative review of all the workshops.

Top crimes in Knoxville are theft, aggravated assault, and motor vehicle theft.

Anyone needing a disability accommodation to attend a meeting should contact the City’s ADA Coordinator, Stephanie Cook, at [email protected] or 865-215-2034. To request an English interpreter, contact Title VI Coordinator Tatia M. Harris at 865-215-2831.
