Directions: From down, take the James White Parkway south to the Sevierville Pike exit. From the exit ramp, turn left onto Sevierville Pike; turn right onto Lancaster Dr. and the parking area will be on the left adjacent to the church building. Parking and entrance to trails is located on the left.
Current trail conditions for several trail areas are available through the City of Knoxville's partnership with the Appalachian Mountain Bike Club (AMBC).

The 100-acre Baker Creek Preserve property was donated to Legacy Parks Foundation by the Wood
family in 2013 then deeded to the City of Knoxville in 2016. This area is quickly transforming into a destination for outdoor
adventures for local and visitors. The property is a major addition to Knoxville’s Urban
Wilderness. This property has a beautiful little
creek, giant sycamore trees and other native plants, wildlife, and
incredible views – it truly is a preserve in that we hope to enhance and
create access to all of the natural assets.” All of the trails,
excluding Devil’s Racetrack, were funded by a Recreation Trails Grant
from the State of Tennessee to Legacy Parks. Appalachian Mountain Bike Club marketed the downtown downhill grant offered by Bell Helmets and won the $100,000 grant through online voting. In August 2020, the Baker Creek Bike Park opening and features new pump tracks for kids, beginners, and advanced riders. Baker Creek Play Forest (located across the street toward South Doyle Middle School) feature four play structures. The area is under construction as part of the Urban Wilderness Gateway Park project.
NOTE: Baker Creek Bike Park will be closed from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Mondays for routine maintenance. This will shift to Tuesdays 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. if the City is closed on Monday or unable to complete the work on Monday due to inclement weather.
Baker Creek Preserve connects to Marie Myers Park by Redbud Road Bridge, and to the Urban Wilderness Gateway Park via the Baker Creek Greenway that crosses Taylor Road.
MULTI-USE TRAILS
Trail names at Baker Creek Preserve reflect the terrain and history of the property. Devil’s Racetrack and Floyd Fox pay homage to the days of moonshine in south Knoxville. The Barn Burner Downhill trail terminates at the location of the old barn on the property. Sycamore Loop winds through some of the largest native trees in the area. Cruze Valley Run descends into the valley located in the heart of the property at a wide-open meadow between the two ridges, and Pappy’s Way, the trail up to Pappy’s Point, is in thanks to the property donor.

PARK RULES & REGULATIONS
1.) For the protection of our park and the safety of its users, the following are prohibited:
- No alcoholic beverages
- No open fires
- No hitting golf balls anywhere in the park
- No motorized vehicles in park
- No equestrian activity
2.) Per city ordinance, all animals must be maintained on a leash.
3.) Please be respectful of other trail users
4.) Please help to keep our parks beautiful by disposing trash in proper receptacles.
5.) Hours - Open dawn to dusk unless otherwise posted.
