The Community Improvement Fund was created on July 1, 1989 and allows appropriations to be made at the discretion of Council to nonprofit organizations. The fund is regulated by T.C.A §6-54-111 and Knoxville City Code §2-596 through §2-603. 


REQUESTS

Requests are reviewed on a quarterly basis. Use the below chart for deadlines.

Allow time before your specific event for the checklist to be reviewed and the funds appropriated, it can take 2 weeks or longer for this process if your checklist and documentation is complete. After Council has responded to a request a notification will be sent to the contact person provided on the checklist. If you have questions refer to the FAQs link, if you do not find your answer there, contact the City Council Office or Councilmember.
