YOUTH CLASSES

Ages 6-10, Beginner Ballet/, Tap and Jazz
Thurs., Aug. 21-Oct. 9 & Tues. Oct. 16-Dec. 4
4:30-5:30 p.m., $65.00
Instructor: Sandy Larson

This class focuses on the fundamentals of classical ballet , tap and jazz, complete with barre and floor workout, stretching & combinations. Ballet will give the student grace and poise with tap and jazz allowing for creativity and freedom of movement. Sandy is a professional dancer & choreographer with over 20 years of teaching experience.

Ages 10-Older, Home School Yoga, a.m. or p.m.
Wed., Aug. 20-Oct. 8 & Wed., Oct. 15-Dec. 3 8:45-9:45 a.m., or

Home school students and parents begin your day together with deep breathing, stretching and a fun twist on fitness. During this yoga class you will be given several variations for holding poses. This class offers valuable health benefits for all ages. Mats are provided.

Ages 10-Older, Pottery With or Without

Instructor: Cathy Maples & Elise Murphy

In this six-week class students will experience throwing on the potter’s wheel and hand building with clay. Learn the basics of how to wedge and center the clay, and hopefully making an assortment of different shaped vessels such as cups, vases, and bowls to use and enjoy. A variety of food safe glazes will be available to choose from. All pieces will be fired to cone 6.

Ages 8-13, Student Drawing 101
Mon., Sept.15-Oct. 20 1:00-2:30 p.m., $70.00
Instructor: Elise Murphy

During this six- week session students will focus on mark making by using line. With pencil and charcoal, students will do thumbnail sketches, contour drawing, value scales, and shadowing. One day the students will go outdoors to study the architecture of the churches next door. Students will also make their own portfolios to hold their personal work. All materials are provided.

Ages 6-12, In Service Day-Knox County
Tues., Nov., 4 9:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m., $30.00
Instructor: Nancy Roberson

During this day students will learn various paper arts such as origami, paper weaving, paper sculpture and more. When not making art projects the students will use a fitness hoop to get their hearts pumping and tone their core muscles. The class will finish with Yogalates mat work and stretching. Wear your sneakers and play clothes.

Ages 5-Older, A Christmas to Remember
Friday, December 5 6:00-7:30 p.m.,
$40.00 a family up to five ($5.00 for ea. additional)
Instructors: Cathy Maples & Elise Murphy

Bring your family and join us at the craft center for an evening of Christmas delight. Using ribbon, sequins, glue and more each family member will design their own gingerbread men and angel ornaments to decorate your tree. Listen to Christmas carols while enjoying complimentary cookies and punch from the center.

Ages 7-12, Gifts Made With Love
Mon. Dec. 22 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., $40.00
Instructors: Cathy Maples & Elise Murphy

Students pack your lunch and spend the day with us! Christmas is just around the corner, and this class is perfect for students wishing to make their own gifts for loved ones. Students will make then wrap four unique gifts to give to Mom, Dad, grandparents or friends. “What we will be making is a surprise, so no questions please”. Encourage your children to share in the joy of giving from the heart!
