PRE-SCHOOL CLASSES

Ages 3 -6, Pre-Ballet Two sessions
Tues., August 19-Oct. 7 & Tues., Oct.14-Dec. 2
4:30-5:15 p.m., $65.00
Instructor: Sandy Larson

This eight-week ballet class is designed to instill the joy of dance as an art form. Students will learn proper technique, dance terms, enhance movement and develop rhythm, motor skills, attention development and coordination. Our pre-ballet classes are theme based with each class centered around popular ballets and children’s classics. All students should wear leotards. Sandy is a professional dancer and teacher with over 20 years experience.

Ages 3 –6, Ballet and Yoga for Mom & Me
Wed., Aug.20-Oct. 8 & Wed., Oct. 15-Dec.3
10:00-10:45 a.m., $65.00
Instructor: Sandy Larson

Our “tiny dancers” will experience the world of ballet through fun, favorite music while developing rhythm, coordination technique and posture. Yoga stretching and poses will be introduced with animal and partner games. The class will conclude with proper breathing and relaxing making for a happy day. Mats provided.

Ages 3-5,w/ Parent Tumbleweeds (3 sessions)
Thurs., Sept. 4,11 & 18 or Oct. 2,9 & 16 or
Thurs., Nov. 7, 14 & 21 10:00-10:45 a.m., $24.00
Instructor: Mike Bensey

Preschoolers will hop, leap, jump and dance to the sound of playful music. They will mimic the movements of creepy creatures. Learning patterns, stretching and identifying colors will all be combined during this three-week creative movement class. Bring your preschoolers and let their imagination soar as they dance to the commands given by dance specialist and experienced ballet enthusiast Mike Bensey. Mike has danced with The Appalachian Ballet Company and taught children with Knoxville Parks and Recreation for more than 20 years.

Ages 4-6, w/ parent Birds, Bees & Butterflies
Fri., Aug. 29 10:00-11:15 a.m., $12.00
Instructor: Elise Murphy

Join us as we are inspired by God’s precious gift of nature. Students will sculpt birds from brown speckled stoneware and paint beautiful watercolor meadows filled with birds, bees and butterflies. Following the class the watercolors will be matted and ready to frame. Clay projects must be fired, approximately 10 days for pick up.

Ages 4-6, w/ parent Fall in Love with Fall
Fri., Sept. 26 1:00-2:15 p.m., $14.00
Instructor: Cathy Maples

Students, gather some fresh leaves from your yard and join us at the craft center. During this class students will discuss the beauty of fall while making unique wind-chimes. Using brown speckled stoneware and imprints from your leaf collection, these durable chimes will be enjoyed for years. All chimes must dry and be fired to a cone 6. Pieces should be ready for pick-up in 10 days.

Ages 4-6, w/ parent A Christmas Wish
Saturday, Dec.13 10:00-11:15 a.m., $14.00
Instructor: Elise Murphy

Students will create a beautiful Christmas stocking using glue, sequins, ribbon and felt. Following the class, decorate a special place in your home to showcase these unique and fun designs. Students will also make matching ornaments with mom or dad to hang on the family tree. Following the class enjoy Christmas cookies and punch compliments of the craft center.
