MARRIAGE LICENSE
All couples planning to marry in Tennessee are required to obtain a Marriage Certificate, no blood test or waiting period required.

It is important to bring all necessary documents with you when applying for a Marriage Certificate. In particular, all documents listed must be the Certified copies or originals, photo copied documents are not acceptable.

In order to obtain a Marriage License you must:

  • Both go to the Knox County Clerk's office at Downtown Knoxville, South Knoxville/Chapman Plaza, West Knoxville/Farragut Towne Hall, North Knoxville/Halls Center, or East Knoxville/Knoxville Center Mall
  • Both bring a A Driver License or State Identification or Certified Birth Certificate or Passport
  • Bring a fee of $107.50 without affidavit or $47.50 with affidavit of counseling or $47.50 if both parties are from out of state
