The Audits and Inspections Detail is responsible for conducting staff inspections of all components of the Department to ensure efficient operations and compliance with the Department's Standard Operating Procedures, General Orders, and the standards set forth by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). The inspection process is a quality control function of the Department, which is designed to analyze the need for training, improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Department, and can assist in developing budget requests. Each component of the Department is inspected every three years.
