Overview of KAT Services

• KAT provides regular, fixed route bus service on 25 routes throughout the City of Knoxville and portions of Knox County. In addition, KAT operates three Express routes from outlying areas into downtown Knoxville as well as the T services, serving the University of TN community.  
  KAT provides service from 5:30 am until 12:30 a.m. on weekdays, 6:30 am until 12:30 a.m. on Saturdays, and 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. on Sundays. Service times for each individual bus route varies.

• KAT also operates several trolley lines, all of which operate fare-free. The Orange Line provides service between the University of Tennessee and downtown from 7:00 am to 6:15 pm on weekdays. The Blue Line connects E. Hill Avenue and the Knoxville Coliseum to the rest of downtown and operates from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm on weekdays. Service to the Fort Sanders area and Cumberland Ave is available via the Green Line (7:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekdays, only during UT Fall &Spring semesters). Late night service to the Old City is available on the Late Line (6 pm to 3:30 am; operates only August--May).  For more information, visit the trolley link->>Knoxville Trolley Lines.

• The LIFT is a demand response service KAT provides for persons with disabilities.   LIFT customers must be eligible under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and certified by KAT.  For more information, call 865-215-7850 or TT 865-525-1525 or visit the LIFT page on our website.  This service operates the same hours as KAT's regular fixed route service.
