Community Agency Grants (CAG)

Your non-profit organization may apply for a Community Agency Grant if it operates within the City of Knoxville and has been in operation for at least five years. All agencies receiving a grant will be required to attend a two hour Title VI seminar - date to be announced. CAG Instruction Letter

The City of Knoxville will be accepting applications from non-profit organizations and public agencies for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds made available to the City by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. East Tennessee Foundation 2009 Neighborhoods Small Grants Program (NSGP)

East Tennessee Foundation (ETF), the City of Knoxville Community Development Department, Knoxville Major Bill Haslam, and Knoxville City Council are pleased to announce that funding is available through the Neighborhoods Small Grants Program (NSGP) to support projects in 2009. Low- to moderate-income neighborhoods and crime watch groups located in Knoxville are encouraged to apply for grants ranging from $500 to $3,000. Attendance at a pre-application workshop is required of all applicants. A final make-up workshop will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at the Cansler YMCA, 616 Jessamine Street, Knoxville. Empowerment Zone (EZ) Blighted Properties Redevelopment Program

The governing board of the Knoxville Empowerment Zone, the Partnership for Neighborhood Improvement (PNI), has allocated $1,884,000 in Empowerment Zone funding to the City's Community Development Division to implement a program that will provide financing through loans, grants and/or subsidies for the purpose of redeveloping and renovating vacant dwelling units, or constructing new dwelling unit, for either sale or rent. Façade Improvement Program (FIP)

Owners of commercial properties in five Knoxville business districts may apply for financial assistance to renovate street-facing exteriors under a new program administed by the City of Knoxville and funded by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Affairs grants. Roughly $758,500 in Empowerment Zone funding is available in the form of five-year forgivable loans for properties around Central Avenue and Broadway.
