Additionally, the KTA sets schedules, fares and routes for KAT services. |

| Appointment of Commissioners | ||||
| The KTA has nine commissioners. Seven are appointed by the Mayor, one by City Council from its membership and the incumbent chair of the Knoxville Area Transit Community Advisory Committee. Of the Mayor's appointees, one must be from the University of Tennessee, one recommended by the Central Improvement Business District and another from the downtown business community. The Commissioners serve a four-year term. | ||||
| Meetings Schedule | ||||
Board meets monthly on the fourth Thursday
at 3 p.m. in the Main Assembly Room of the City County Building.
*Due to holidays, the November & December meetings fall on the 3rd Thursday of the month instead of the 4th Thursday. |
